Oilfield Accidents

Compared to other fields of labor, working in the oil and gas drilling industry can be one of the most dangerous jobs there is. Besides the possibility of well fires and blow outs, working with combustible products greatly increases the severity of accidents and injuries when they do occur. In addition, oilfield workers must contend with heavy, moving machinery, pipes, and chains, work on elevated platforms on the rig, and deal with hazardous weather conditions. Employees often work long hours and extended shifts which can also contribute to workplace safety concerns.

When carelessness or negligence is involved, serious oilfield accidents occur. From strains and sprains to life-threatening injuries such as amputations and burns, on-the-job accidents at oil rigs happen frequently. Minor injuries often go unreported which can lead to additional, more severe accidents if safety issues are not addressed and accident prevention training is not provided by management. According to OSHA's Industry Profile statistcs, the majority of people hurt at oil and gas well drilling sites have been on the job less than 11 months.

If you have been injured in an oilfield accident, the attorneys at The Monsour Law Firm can help. We are experienced in personal injury litigation and have the knowledge and resources to ensure your case gets results. To receive a complimentary case evaluation, contact us today by phone or e-mail.
